Eli,
Today you are 2 years old and I can hardly believe this day is here so soon. You are a such a happy and playful little boy and I am so very blessed to be your mommy. This past year you have grown up and changed tremendously and although it breaks my heart how fast these stages are going, I am proud of your Independence and daily discoveries. You make me laugh out loud every day from something you say or do. Here are my favorites lately:
-"More cuggles (cuddles) pease" over and over at bedtime because you don't want us to leave
-"Oh! Beep beep!" every time you hear a car horn or firetruck you exclaim this with fresh enthusiasm as if it's the first time.
-The way you try to order Buckeye around and stamp your feet when she ignores you. "Buckeye come, Buckeye no, Buckeye sit!"
-The way you say "Move on back" when you want someone or something to get out of your way. Apparently you picked this up from the Wheels on the Bus song recently...
-The way you waltz into a room and announce "I need ______(juice, snack, lunch, etc)" while emphatically nodding your head to make sure we understand the urgency.
-"I did it!" with every accomplishment, sometimes even adding some clapping for yourself.
- Announcing "Oh no, what happened?" This always means you either broke something, spilled something, or made a big mess. It's never something to be ignored and always sends me running to assess the damage.
-The way you squeal and scream streaking naked through the house after your baths.
I could go on and on. I know you are going to continue amazing us and making us laugh as you grow older. I wish I could capture your innocence and forever protect you from the world ahead. I pray daily for the patience and wisdom to help raise you into a strong man of God. Thank you for loving me despite all my mistakes.
